TRADE AND INVESTMENT – LAIKIPIA COUNTY
Laikipia County, due to its proximity to the Lapset Project, becomes a prone land for investment
Its vast lands is a number one target for real estate developers
The county portends opportunity in the production of biofuels, generation of hydro-power along Thompson falls, solar power, photovoltaic manufacturing plants establishment.
HOTEL AND CONSERVANCIES
Laikipia with its proximity to Mount Kenya as well as its spectacular plains, hosting myriads of wildlife becomes a prime target for investors targeting hotel establishment as well as conservancies.
The county boasts of vast space allocation for lands demarcated for industry developments in its major centers of Rumuruti, Nanyuki, Doldol and Nyahururu.
AMAYA TRIANGLE INITIATIVE
AMAYA TRIANGLE is an initiative of the County Government of Laikipia in collaboration with the leadership of the neighboring Counties; Baringo, Samburu, Isiolo and West Pokot together with the relevant National Government security agencies to address the issue of security as a key determinant of the social, economic and political outcomes of the greater region.
The initiative seeks to examine how government funds administered by the leaders at various levels can be used to make a difference in the regions to end frequent conflicts by being innovative. Specifically, the initiative looks into the possibility of exploring innovations around economic opportunities like pastoralism such as embracing of feedlots, marketing and branding of livestock products such as beef from the counties. More focus from the initiative is on the best ways of entrenching the rule of law and order and offering civic education from an early age.
